Broadway star Michele McConnell is taking on a new role. The north Jersey resident has accepted the position of Skyline Theatre Company’s Board of Trustees president.
McConnell, better known to audiences as Carlotta in “Phantom of the Opera,” has served on the Fair Lawn theatre company’s board since 2008. She was unanimously voted in as the new president.
In 2010, the Indianapolis native joined the cast of “Phantom,” the next year she began performing in the starring role.
In addition to her performance experience, McConnell is a member of Actors Equity Association and an adjunct faculty member in the musical theatre department at New Jersey City University.
The Skyline — which performs at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation, 10-10 20th St., Fair Lawn — has also expanded its board this year to include an additional four New Jersey based trustees.
